Fairmont School District 89 invites families to breast cancer awareness event

Fairmont School District 89 is inviting families and community members to attend a gathering focused on breast cancer awareness. The event will take place on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Central Square Gazebo at City Hall, located at 222 East 9th Street in Lockport, Illinois.

The gathering will feature local experts, community advocates, and breast cancer survivors. Organizers say the event is being held in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Fairmont School District 89, which serves Will County, is represented by Fairmont School. The district has a diverse student population, with 12.7 percent White, 38.5 percent Black, 46 percent Hispanic, and 0.3 percent Asian students, according to the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE).
