Lindsay Parkhurst led Democrat Lisa M. Dugan in votes cast in Peotone Township for the District 79 state House race, according to the latest vote count.
Parkhurst appeared to outpace Dugan by a margin of 36.4 percent on Tuesday in the township.
In comparison, the 2014 winner, Republican Glenn Nixon, won by a margin of 42.2 percent in that jurisdiction, beating Democrat Katherine "Kate" Cloonen, who received 415 votes to Nixon's 1,020.
