Report: Summit Hill spent $11,502 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Summit Hill School District 161 is up 30 percent from five years ago, according to a Will County Gazette analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Will County school district spent $8,866 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $11,502 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 3414 to 3083.

Summit Hill's spending in 2016-17 was 11 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
