Analysis: University Park pays $3.19 for every $1 pensioners contribute to University Park Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 75.1 percent of the $482,428 the University Park Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.19 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Will County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, University Park contributed $362,524 to the fund, which saw a $37,735 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $113,327, or 23.5 percent, in 2016. Another $6,577 came from other unspecified sources.
