It's not too early to be thinking about the holidays -- especially when it comes to helping those in need, the Alsip Chamber of Commerce suggested in a recent flier calling on area residents to help sponsor its annual Holiday Gathering & Giving Program.
The event, presented in conjunction with other community organizations, will take place on Dec. 7 at the Doubletree by Hilton Chicago/Alsip. Other hosts include the Alsip Industrial Association and the MetroSouth Medical Center.
The Holiday Gathering & Giving Program uses sponsor donations to purchase food and toys for local food pantries over the holiday season. Funding also goes toward granting the holiday wishes of more than 20 local families.
Sponsorships range from $250 to $1,000. Sponsors who make their contributions prior to Oct. 20 will be listed on all event materials, including invitations, signs and publicity items.
Those interested in sponsorship can contact the chamber or the industrial association.
