On May 5, 2025, the City of Joliet Public Utilities Department will commence work on a water main on Henderson Avenue. This is part of the broader Heggie Park Water Main Replacement Project. The current phase focuses on replacing the water main along Henderson Avenue, spanning from Ward Avenue to Williamson Avenue.
During the construction period, Henderson Avenue will be closed to traffic between these points. To accommodate this, north and southbound traffic will be rerouted to Royce Avenue, covering the same section from Ward Avenue to Williamson Avenue. The work is expected to conclude by June 30, 2025, and motorists are advised to utilize alternative routes during this time.
