The Chicago Southland Chamber will host an informational session and interactive training for community members on occupational health presented by Advocate Health Care on Sept. 20, according to a press release.
Poor health and its effects, including productivity losses related to health problems, cost U.S. employers $1,685 per employee each year, or $225.8 billion annually, according to the release.
A solid approach to wellness includes employees and business owners adopting a variety of habits for physical, mental, social and spiritual health, which is where a good occupational health program comes in with a variety of services, including injury care, wellness services and pre-employment screenings, the release said.
Tickets for the Orland Park event, which will run from 3 to 4:30 p.m., are $15 for chamber members and $20 for non-members.
