Will County Associate Judge Ben Braun, a candidate for Will County Circuit Court, will be the featured speaker at an upcoming event, "Understanding Your Right to Self Defense in Illinois," hosted by the Will County Republican Party and the Lockport Republicans.

The free event will take place after the Lockport Republicans meeting, beginning at 7 p.m on June 6 at Lockport’s Prairie Bluff Golf Club.

Also on June 6, Joseph Scheidler, national director and founder of the the Pro-Life Action League, will run the "IFI Life Forum," beginning at 7 p.m. at Smokey Barque Restaurant in Frankfort.

Will County Board member Annette Parker will host a fundraiser event on June 8 for her upcoming re-election campaign at the Crest Hill Lanes and Keglers Sports Bar & Grill in Crest Hill. The event is $40 per person or $70 per couple and will run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Also, the Will County Republicans are asking area Republicans interested in taking part in their local communities’ Memorial Day parades to get in touch. The group is running "Project Parade" to increase its presence in local parades and sees Memorial Day as a great opportunity. The Will County Republicans are also looking for volunteers to staff its booth at the Will County Fair from August 23 to 27.
