Lewis University received the most Division II Athletics Directors Association Academic Achievement Awards among Great Lakes Valley Conference schools, LewisFlyers.com recently reported.
Lewis earned 102 awards for the 2015-16 school year. The University of Indianapolis was second in the league with 97 awards, according to nacda.com, with William Jewell College and Bellarmine University tied for third with 70. The GLVC received a total of 507 awards.
Nationally, Lewis ranked 10th out of 156 teams. The University of Findlay led all schools with 170 awards.
To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete has to have a grade-point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, have had at least four semesters of college-level work, and been an active collegiate-team member during his or her final academic year, LewisFlyers.com said.
