Joliet's first Poet Laureate finalists to present at historical museum
The search for Joliet’s inaugural Poet Laureate is reaching its climax, with six finalists set to present their work at the Joliet Area Historical Museum’s Auditorium on Thursday, May 16 at 6:30 PM. Each finalist will read an original piece based on the prompt "Joliet," followed by another of their own choosing. They will then respond to a series of brief questions about their potential role as Joliet’s Poet Laureate. The event will be judged and the winner announced at the Billie Limacher Bicentennial Park during the "Ye Olde Mayfest" event on Saturday, May 18.
