City of Joliet committee to consider grant award at upcoming special meeting

The City of Joliet Land Use & Economic Development Committee has scheduled a special meeting for Wednesday, November 19, 2025. The session will begin at 3:30 PM and take place in the Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 150 West Jefferson Street in Joliet, Illinois.

Citizens who are unable to attend the meeting have the option to submit comments ahead of time by emailing publiccomment@joliet.gov.

The agenda includes roll call and approval of minutes from the October 22, 2025 meeting. There will be an opportunity for citizens to address items on the agenda, with each speaker allowed up to four minutes. According to the city’s procedures, "It is not a question and answer period and staff, and the Committee members do not generally respond to public comments. The City Clerk has a copy of the public speaking procedures; please note, speakers who engage in conduct injurious to the harmony of the meeting shall be called to order by the Presiding Officer and may forfeit the opportunity to speak."

One key item on the agenda is consideration of awarding a Business Continuity Grant totaling $63,733.50 to Cut 158 Inc.

There will also be a public comment section for non-agenda items with similar rules regarding time limits and decorum.

The city notes that "This meeting will be held in an accessible location. If you need a reasonable accommodation, please contact The City Clerk Office, 150 West Jefferson Street, Joliet, Illinois 60432 at (815) 724-3780."

The meeting will conclude with adjournment.
