Park Forest trustees to review Aqua Center plans and tax ordinances at Nov. 17 meeting

The Park Forest Board of Trustees will meet on Monday, November 17, at 7 p.m. at Village Hall to discuss a range of topics, including the Aqua Center redevelopment, village finances, and business licensing in the DownTown area.

During the meeting, the board is expected to approve several items on the consent agenda. These include minutes from previous meetings, awarding a contract for commercial kitchen hood installation at 331 Founders Way to YAD Construction LLC for $53,640 contingent upon tenant lease signing, and approving appointments and an hourly-rate increase for three adjudication hearing officers.

Two tax-related ordinances will be introduced for their first readings. One ordinance concerns levying taxes for all corporate purposes for the fiscal year starting July 1, 2026 and ending June 30, 2027. The other ordinance proposes abating a portion of the 2025 tax levy.

The board will also consider authorizing a letter of proposal with Williams Architects to provide architectural and engineering services related to redeveloping the Aqua Center. The project’s construction budget is capped at $10 million.

Another item on the agenda is a discussion about business renewal registration and license-fee structure within the village.

Residents can access copies of the agenda packet online through the village’s Agenda Center. Those needing accommodations due to disabilities are encouraged to contact the Village Manager’s Office at least 48 hours in advance by calling 708-283-5605 or 708-748-1129.

The full agenda and supporting materials are available on the Village website.
