Patrick Sheehan, a Republican elected in 2024 to represent Illinois' 37th House District, has shared updates and opinions on recent state political developments through his social media posts.
On November 3, 2025, Sheehan marked the end of the legislative veto session, writing, "Veto Session is officially in the books. I’m glad to be back home in the district, ready to connect with the people I represent. I'm looking forward to meeting with residents and attending events across our communities!"
The following day, Sheehan criticized remarks reportedly made by Governor J.B. Pritzker regarding federal law enforcement and Republican lawmakers. In his post dated November 4, 2025, he stated: "Governor Pritzker recently launched into a profanity-laced tirade.
He labels Federal Law Enforcement officers the “gestapo” and “jack-booted thugs.”
He says Republicans “shall not know a moment of peace.”
He says his people need to become 'streetfighters' and that bullies".
On November 5, 2025, Sheehan expressed concern about proposed legislation affecting law enforcement cooperation in Illinois. He wrote: "HB1312 places a dangerous wedge between local law enforcement and their federal partners. By banning civil immigration enforcement at courthouses, schools, and hospitals, this bill shields offenders and makes it harder for Federal officers and local officers to do their jobs and".
Sheehan assumed office after being elected in 2024 to succeed Tim Ozinga as representative for Illinois' 37th House District.
