Teams from the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), and Will County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) will begin visiting homes in Will County on Wednesday and Thursday to assess damage caused by storms and flooding that occurred between August 16 and 19.

The agencies plan to go door-to-door, gathering information about property damage. This assessment aims to document the extent of the impact from the recent severe weather in the area.

According to officials, resident participation is important for collecting accurate data about damages, which can influence decisions regarding federal assistance or other resources for recovery efforts.

Residents are encouraged to cooperate with assessment teams as their input will help determine the level of aid needed for the community.
