The City of Joliet Land Use & Economic Development Committee has scheduled a special meeting for Wednesday, September 3, 2025. The session will take place at 9:30 AM in the Executive Conference Room at City Hall, located at 150 West Jefferson Street, Joliet, Illinois.
Citizens who cannot attend in person are encouraged to submit comments ahead of the meeting by emailing publiccomment@joliet.gov.
The agenda includes approval of minutes from the June 30, 2025 special meeting and provides an opportunity for citizens to address agenda items. Speakers will be given up to four minutes each to comment on topics listed on the agenda. According to city procedures, this is not a question and answer period and responses from staff or committee members are not typical during public comment sessions. The City Clerk maintains a copy of the public speaking procedures. "Speakers who engage in conduct injurious to the harmony of the meeting shall be called to order by the Presiding Officer and may forfeit the opportunity to speak."
Key items scheduled for discussion include an amendment to subdivision regulations regarding final plats (M-2-25), consideration of vacating a stormwater easement at 1715 Terry Drive, and a resolution authorizing modification of a lease agreement with JBM Golf Properties, LLC concerning Union Station at 50 W. Jefferson Street.
There will also be time allocated for new or old business that is not intended for final action or recommendation.
A second public comment period will allow attendees to address non-agenda items under similar rules as earlier in the meeting.
