In a series of posts on social media between August 25 and August 28, Sheehan outlined his position on the policy change and discussed its impact on communities.

The following day, he expanded on his views during an appearance on Fox32. On August 26, he posted: "I was honored to join Fox32 to discuss President Trump’s executive order ending cashless bail. Sheehan began serving in the Illinois State House in 2024 after being elected to represent the state’s 37th House District. He succeeded Tim Ozinga as part of the Republican caucus.
