City of Joliet Public Assets Committee set to discuss facility projects August 28

The City of Joliet Public Assets Committee is scheduled to meet on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 4:30 PM in the Executive Conference Room at City Hall, located at 150 West Jefferson Street in Joliet, Illinois. The meeting will address several agenda items concerning city facilities and infrastructure.

Citizens who cannot attend in person have the option to email their comments before the meeting to publiccomment@joliet.gov.

The agenda includes recommendations for approval of professional services and contracts for multiple projects. These include the exterior painting of City Hall by Cosgrove Construction Inc. for $61,375; replacement of the generator at the Joliet Police Department West Substation by Elliott Electric Inc. for $63,182; and replacement of rooftop fire suppression pipes at the Joliet Area Historical Museum by AMS Industries, Inc. for $55,500. Additionally, a contract award for improvements to Route 66 Broadway Street Greenway is proposed with PT Fero Construction Co., totaling $63,063.

Updates are also expected regarding the Slammers and the museum.

There will be opportunities during the meeting for citizens to speak on both agenda and non-agenda items. Each speaker is allowed up to four minutes. According to city procedures: "It is not a question and answer period and staff, and the Committee members do not generally respond to public comments. The City Clerk has a copy of the public speaking procedures; please note, speakers who engage in conduct injurious to the harmony of the meeting shall be called to order by the Presiding Officer and may forfeit the opportunity to speak."
