The City of Joliet Land Use & Economic Development Committee has scheduled a special meeting for Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at 3:30 PM. The meeting will take place in the Council Chambers on the second floor of Joliet City Hall, located at 150 West Jefferson Street.
Citizens who cannot attend in person are invited to submit comments ahead of time via email to publiccomment@joliet.gov.
The agenda includes approval of minutes from the June 30, 2025 special meeting and an opportunity for citizens to speak on agenda items. Each speaker is allowed up to four minutes. According to the meeting procedures, "It is not a question and answer period and staff, and the Committee members do not generally respond to public comments. The City Clerk has a copy of the public speaking procedures; please note, speakers who engage in conduct injurious to the harmony of the meeting shall be called to order by the Presiding Officer and may forfeit the opportunity to speak."
Among the items up for discussion are a resolution authorizing a modification of a lease agreement for Union Station at 50 W. Jefferson Street with JBM Golf Properties, LLC; an amendment (M-2-25) to subdivision regulations regarding final plats; and consideration of vacating a stormwater easement at 1715 Terry Drive (TMP-8919).
There will also be time set aside for new or old business that is not up for final action or recommendation during this session.
A second public comment period will allow citizens to address non-agenda items under similar rules as earlier in the meeting.
