The Village of Crete will participate in National Night Out, an event designed to foster connections between community members and local law enforcement. The gathering is scheduled for Tuesday, August 5, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Monee Reservoir, located at 27341 Ridgeland Avenue in Monee.

According to organizers, the Crete Police Department will be present alongside the Crete Park District and other groups. "National Night Out is a great chance to connect with neighbors and local law enforcement. The Crete Police Department will be there along with the Crete Park District and many others," organizers stated.

Attendees can expect free food provided by Operation BBQ Relief, made possible through support from the Crete Police Department. The event will also feature music, games, activities, and free kayaking lessons. Children will have the opportunity to receive child identification cards during the evening.

Organizers highlighted that there are "plenty of ways to enjoy the summer evening together" as part of this community initiative.
