The City has engaged Clarke, a nationally recognized expert in mosquito control, to address the ongoing mosquito infestation and frequent breeding issues. Clarke will conduct mosquito spraying throughout city streets on Monday, June 16, 2025.

Residents interested in learning more about the mosquito treatment can contact the Clarke Mosquito Hot Line at 800-942-2555. Additionally, they can register for future alerts regarding mosquito spraying by calling this number or visiting https://www.clarkeportal.com/.

Acknowledging that mosquito infestations pose public health concerns, the City is taking proactive measures to eliminate nuisance and disease-carrying mosquitoes. These insects are known carriers of diseases such as West Nile and Zika viruses. Clarke employs only organic materials for mosquito control that are environmentally safe and adhere strictly to EPA standards.

To assist in reducing mosquito-breeding habitats, residents are encouraged to remove stagnant water sources from their properties. Common sources include bird baths, old tires, downspout drains, kiddy or abandoned pools, and pet drinking bowls.
