Marie D’Arpa of Lockport, 88, dies at Home

Marie D’Arpa, 88, of Lockport, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, surrounded by her family. Originally from Chicago, she had also lived in Palermo, Italy, and had been a resident of Lockport since 1978. D’Arpa was a member of St. Joseph Church in Lockport and had also attended Mass at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Lockport.

Preceded in death by her husband, Salvatore D’Arpa, and son Joe D’Arpa, she is survived by her children Bijou, Jamie, and Sara, as well as five grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial in Marie's honor has been scheduled to take place on Monday, April 28, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 500 S. Jefferson St., Lockport, IL 60441, at 11:30 a.m., with visitation at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Cremation Rites will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity in Marie’s name are welcomed.
