Edward W. VanLoon, age 85, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 4, 2025, at The Cottages in New Lenox, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jill VanLoon, daughters Kris VanLoon, Kathy Ferry, Kerry Thomason, grandchildren, step-granddaughter, step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and sisters-in-law. Preceded in death by his parents, John and Agnes VanLoon, and brother Andrew.

Edward, a graduate of Chicago Vocational High School, was a 60-plus year member of the sheet metal union Local #73. An avid fisherman and outdoorsman, he was a member of the Wilmington Sportsman’s Club. Described as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, Edward will be dearly missed by all.

A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Arrangements entrusted to Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. To send flowers or plant a tree in memory of Edward VanLoon, please visit the floral store.
