The New Lenox Safe Community Coalition has teamed up with JM Training to provide a seminar on home security, home defense, and personal safety. This free event is scheduled for Tuesday, April 29, 2025, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Community Room at the New Lenox Village Hall. Interested parties can register via Eventbrite at the provided link.
The seminar will be led by Joe Malone, CEO and founder of JM Training, who has 13 years of experience in the Marine Corps, including time with the Marine Special Operations Command (MARSOC Raiders). Malone aims to share his expertise through practical training. Attendees will gain insights into the "4 Ds” of home defense, which include Deterrence, Detection, Delay, and Defend.
Deterrence involves discouraging criminal activity to enhance safety. Detection helps by allowing time to respond, which is crucial for home defense. Delay refers to slowing down the progress of a threat, while Defend encompasses actions to disrupt a criminal’s intentions.
Malone seeks to tailor the presentation to attendees' specific concerns, inviting participants to email their primary worries regarding home security to j.malone@southerncross.company. Daniel Martin, Safe Community Coordinator for the Village of New Lenox, is available for additional inquiries at dmartin@newlenox.net or by calling (815) 462-6493.
