The Village of Park Forest is showing its appreciation for residents throughout June with a series of activities. These include weekly raffles, a community barbecue, and the return of the Main Street Nights summer concert series on the Village Green.
Residents can participate in weekly raffles offering prizes such as utility bill credits and Park Forest merchandise. This initiative is part of Resident Appreciation Month, celebrating those who reside in the village.
From June 2 to 6, residents have the opportunity to enter a raffle for a $50 credit on their water bills by visiting Village Hall and submitting a ticket. Ten winners will be announced.
In the week from June 9 to 13, residents can enter a drawing for surprise baskets containing various items. Evelyn Randle, community relations coordinator, stated that "It's a surprise." Five winners will be selected.
The Main Street Nights series will commence on Wednesday, June 11. This annual outdoor event features live music, food vendors, and movie nights at the Village Green at Cunningham and Main streets. A Resident Appreciation Barbecue will also take place for the first 500 attendees starting at 5:30 p.m.
During the week of June 16 to 20, there will be another raffle featuring Park Forest-themed merchandise such as cups and tote bags. Ten winners will be chosen.
The final week of June offers a raffle from June 23 to 27 with gift cards to local businesses as prizes. Five recipients will receive gift cards valued between $5 and $50.
