The Village of Park Forest is set to host its annual job fair on Saturday, April 12, at Village Hall. The event is organized in collaboration between the Village, the Commission on Human Relations, and the Youth Commission, aiming to facilitate employment opportunities for community members.

Community Relations Manager Evelyn Randle highlighted the primary goal of the fair: "The objective is to create meaningful connections between employers and potential employees." She also noted the event provides companies with a platform to showcase open positions while attendees can network, explore various career paths, and discover job opportunities in the area.

Randle mentioned the current instability in the job market has prompted many to reassess their career plans, underscoring the relevance of the event for both seasoned job seekers and new entrants to the workforce.

Taking place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Village Hall's main boardroom at 350 Victory Drive, attendees are advised to arrive early and dress professionally. Although it is not confirmed whether on-the-spot interviews will be conducted, Randle advised participants to bring multiple copies of their resumes to be prepared for such opportunities.

The fair will feature a wide range of potential employers spanning various industries, such as education, healthcare, transportation, and hospitality, offering a wealth of opportunities for attendees to engage with hiring managers.

For those seeking additional information, Randle can be reached at 708-283-5621.

Some of the employers expected to participate include Park Forest-Chicago Heights School District 163, American School Bus Company, Prairie State College, Illinois Department of Employment Security, and Illinois Central Bus Company.
