John Elliot Buie, aged 66, of Manteno, passed away on March 3, 2025, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his mother, daughter, grandchildren, sister, nephew, aunts, and faithful canine companion "Coco." John cherished his roots in Helena, Arkansas, along the Mississippi River, where his family's connection to the area was profound. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and woodworking, earning a reputation as a skilled handyman able to fix anything. An employee at Braidwood Exxon Nuclear Plant, John formed lasting friendships and was known as the "Jack of All Trades." Cremated per his wishes, his remains will rest at home on the river. A memorial visitation will be held on March 7, 2025, with donations to the Cancer Research Foundation appreciated.
