WILMINGTON — Michael A. Mancuso, Sr., 91, of Wilmington, formerly of Joliet, died on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.

Born on September 7, 1933, in Joliet, Michael Anthony was the son of Anthony and Rose Mancuso. He married Lillian Lorraine Ward in 1955 and served in the United States Navy before a successful career at Metropolitan Life Insurance for over 40 years. Following retirement, Michael became a skilled home remodeler and builder, showcasing his talents in Wilmington. A dedicated usher at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Michael was known for his strong work ethic, gardening skills, and love for his family, always putting them first.

Survived by his wife Lillian; children Michael Jr., Anthony, Joseph, and son-in-law Joe Petrovic; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and extended family.

Preceded in death by his daughter Michelle, and several family members.

Visitation at Baskerville Funeral Home in Wilmington on February 4, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Religious services on February 5, 2025, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Wilmington at 11:00 a.m. Burial at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Wilmington. Memorial donations can be made to Kuzma Care Cottage in Wilmington.
