Frankfort, Illinois - Steve J. Magee, 60, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, IL. He was born on January 29, 1964, in Madison, Wisconsin, to Gary Magee and Tana Palmer. Steve resided in various places including Oregon, Stoughton, and California before settling in Frankfort, IL with his beloved family.

Steve was a resilient individual who bravely faced and conquered many medical challenges, including a bone marrow transplant in 2016. His dedication to family was unwavering, as he became a stay-at-home dad to support his daughter Megan Magee and his wife Deb Magee, whom he shared his life with for many years.

In his professional life, Steve worked at Mobil Oil in California, operated his own business, and managed projects at Trapani Construction in Illinois. Known for his humor, outgoing personality, and expertise in backgammon, Steve was a cherished friend and opponent to many. He had a passion for hunting, fishing, range shooting, and baking and smoking meats. His love for dogs (and a cat) was evident as he always had loyal companions by his side.

Steve is survived by his wife Deb Magee, daughter Megan Magee, father Gary Magee, stepmother Kathi Magee, sister Lisa Magee, brother Darren Magee, and numerous other family members and friends.

A visitation for Steve will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel on Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the National Marrow Donor Program (nmdp.org) to support medical research would be appreciated.
