PLAINFIELD, IL - Nancy Lee Meyer (Wagner), 80, peacefully passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, October 29, 2024. Known for her strength, compassion, and unwavering faith, Nancy's legacy is one of love and peace.

She is survived by her daughters, Susan (Marc) Pusateri of Plainfield, IL, and Kristen (Charles) Gasser of Aurora, IL; siblings Linda (the late Bill) Linson, Mark (the late Mimi) Wagner, and Debbie (Steve) Yirku; son-in-law Ray (the late Jenna) Fernandez; grandchildren Alyssa Pusateri, Rachel Pusateri, Amanda Gasser, Moriah Fernandez, and Jio Fernandez; as well as nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, James Meyer, daughter Jenna Fernandez, parents Herbert and Elizabeth Wagner, and sister Susan Wagner.

Born and raised in Chicago, Nancy attended Lindblom High School and earned her bachelor's degree in elementary education from Northern Illinois University. It was there that she met her beloved husband, Jim. Nancy taught 4th grade in Ottawa until the birth of her first child. The family settled in Downers Grove, where Nancy dedicated herself to raising her daughters and supporting them in their school activities. Later, she returned to teaching, always holding a special place in her heart for the 4th grade. Nancy was passionate about music, football, and basketball, and was known for her exceptional cooking skills, creating a warm and welcoming home for her family and guests. She cherished her role as a grandmother, finding joy in spending time with her grandchildren.

In her later years, Nancy found solace in her faith, developing a deep relationship with God through her church involvement and Bible studies. Despite battling Parkinson's Disease, Nancy's unwavering faith and inner strength shone through, bringing comfort to those around her, especially at the Storypoint Senior Living Center, where she resided for the past five years.

Nancy will be remembered for her laughter, compassionate nature, remarkable memory, quiet resilience, endearing stubbornness, and the sense of peace that radiated from her. Her family and friends cherished her presence and the calmness she brought to any situation.

A Celebration of Nancy's Life will be held at Mistwood Golf Club in Romeoville, IL, on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Memorial donations can be made in Nancy's honor to Angel's Grace Hospice, in recognition of their compassionate care for her.

To Nancy, a woman of strength, compassion, and quiet faith, may her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
