In our pursuit of transparency and accountability, we requested records under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, specifically seeking information about the city council members. The details requested include each member's name, title, year of appointment, term length (2 or 4 years), and term expiration date.

This includes holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. We believe that as a media professional, we are eligible for a fee waiver when accessing these records.
