Joliet, IL – Construction work on new pavement at the Six Corners intersection of Plainfield Road / Black Road and Ruby Street / N. Raynor Avenue is set to begin as part of the Plainfield Road Water Main Improvement Project. The project will start on Tuesday, July 8th, 2025, and is expected to conclude by Tuesday, July 15th.
During this period, one lane of traffic in each direction on Plainfield Road and Raynor Avenue will remain open. However, all traffic through the Six Corners intersection on Black Road and Ruby Street will be closed. A detour will be implemented for these roads during construction. Drivers are advised to find alternative routes while the work is underway.
"We appreciate your patience and ask that you drive slowly and cautiously through any construction zone," stated a representative from the City of Joliet.
