Mokena resident Mary K. Schwarz, 90, died on Friday, October 4, 2024. A former parishioner of St. Mary Church in Mokena, IL, Schwarz was a member of the Frankfort, IL Women’s Club and actively participated in fundraising for the American Cancer Society and St. Mary Church. She was also involved in organizing fashion shows for St. Mary Church. Schwarz attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and previously owned and operated Weddings & Whirls in Frankfort, IL. Later, she served as a secretary at her husband's business, Basic Fire Protection. Schwarz had a passion for art, enjoyed hosting parties for her loved ones, and cherished spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Schwarz, and is survived by her daughters, Pamela Bobzin and Paula Lindsley. Schwarz was a beloved grandmother to John Bobzin, Nicole (Noah) Hostert, and Shania Lindsley, and a cherished great-grandmother to Chloe. She was the caring sister of the late Patricia Dornisch and the daughter of the late Patrick and Lillian Spratt. Schwarz will be remembered fondly by her several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Prayers at 11:00 a.m. at Vandenberg Funeral Home in Mokena, IL. A Funeral Mass will take place on the same day at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary Church in Mokena, IL, followed by interment at St. Mary Cemetery in Evergreen Park, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Scholl Community Impact Group.
