City of Braidwood City Council met May 28.

Call to Order: The Regular Meeting of the Braidwood City Council on May 28, 2024 was called to order at 7:00 p.m., by Mayor Hart in the Council Chambers of the Braidwood City Hall.

Pledge of Allegiance: Mayor Hart requested all rise for the Pledge of Allegiance.

Roll Call: Upon Roll Call by the Clerk, the following members of the corporate authorities answered "Here" or "Present";

Elected Officials;

Present: Commissioner Money, Commissioner Wietting, Commissioner Walsh, Commissioner Wilczak and Mayor Hart

Absent: None

Appointed Officials:

Present: City Clerk Weaver, City Administrator Altiery, Chief Goodwin, City Engineer Dave Weber, and City Attorney Wellner

Absent: None

Quorum: There being sufficient members of the corporate authorities in attendance to constitute a quorum, the meeting was declared in order.

Public Comment: None

Approval of Minutes: Commissioner Wilczak made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Walsh, to approve meeting minutes from the May 14, 2024. Regular Council Meeting with the necessary changes. Motion carried with 5 ayes: 0 nays; 0 Abstain (Money, Wietting, Walsh, Wilczak and Hart)

Mayor's Report: Request a motion to approve Ordinance 24-20 Authorizing the City of Braidwood to enter into and for the Mayor of Braidwood to Execute an Agreement between the City of Braidwood and Surf Air Wireless, LLC regarding an Amended and Novated Lease Agreement. Commissioner Wietting made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Money. Attorney Wellner spoke adding an addition agreement that they will not interfere with any existing communications systems prior to or installed after entering into this agreement. Motion carried with 5 ayes: 0 nays; 0 Abstain (Money, Wietting, Walsh, Wilczak and Hart)

Administrator Report: None

City Clerk Report: Clerk Weaver: Reminder that the Food Pantry is open every Tuesday from 8am to noon and for the time being from 3pm to 5pm. Starting June 25, the evening time slot will be available by appointment only. Please call 1-815-325-0779 at least two days prior to schedule an appointment during the Tuesday 3pm to 5pm time slot.

Engineer Report: None

City Attorney Report: None

Accounts & Finance Report: Commissioner Money made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Wilczak, to approve the Payment of Bills, in the amount of $113,686.67 as identified in the Accounts Payable General Ledger dated May 28, 2024. Motion carried with 5 ayes: 0 nays. (Money, Wietting, Walsh, Wilczak and Hart) Commissioner Money then made a Motion, seconded by Commissioner Wietting, to Approve Payroll Expenses, in the amount of $100,935.85 as identified in the Payroll General Ledger dated May 24, 2024. Motion carried with 5 ayes; 0 nays. (Money, Wietting, Walsh, Wilczak and Hart).

Streets & Public Improvement Report: None

Public Property Report: Commissioner Wietting: Want to thank all the city employees who came out to work on the water main leak that happened over the weekend.

Public Health & Safety Report: Commissioner Wilczak: Thank you all who attended the Memorial Day festivities.

Would also like to recognize everyone who helped and assisted with the accident that happened on May 21 involving 3 of our buses carrying our 8th grade students to there Six Flags Amusement Park field trip. This was a situation could have been very tragic but with the help from our city, State Police and others it turned out with limited bad effects.

The Braidwood Police Department Press Release for May 14, 2024 to May 27, 2024: total number of calls for service 262, case reports 23, total subjects arrested 7, total arrest charges 13, total number of traffic stops 84, citations 28, written warnings 49, semi-truck violations 5, total number of P-tickets 2.

Planning & Zoning Report: Mayor: Then next meeting is Monday, June 3, 2024 at 7:00 pm in Council Chambers.

Old Business: None

New Business: Commissioner Walsh: Last year we had 3 Town Hall meetings with the city administrator and council members. We are scheduling 3 more for this year. June 11, August 13, and October 8 at 6pm before a regular council meeting.

Adjournment: Commissioner Wilczak made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Wietting, to adjourn the May 28, 2024 regular meeting of the Braidwood City Council. Motion carried with 5 ayes: 0 nays. (Money, Wietting, Walsh, Wilczak and Hart) The next regular meeting of the Council will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 7:00pm
