City of Joliet committee reviews CDBG projects for Program Year 2024

The City of Joliet Diversity & Community Relations Committee will hold a meeting on Friday, June 28, 2024, at 4:00 PM in the City Hall Council Chambers. The committee members include Councilman Cesar Guerrero as Chairperson, Councilman Joe Clement, and Councilwoman Suzanna Ibarra.

The agenda for the meeting includes roll call, approval of minutes, and a section for citizens to be heard on agenda items. Citizens are allowed a maximum of four minutes to speak. The City Clerk has a copy of the public speaking procedures, and speakers who disrupt the meeting may be called to order by the Presiding Officer.

The main agenda item is the review of recommended projects for Program Year 2024 under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). The resolutions to be discussed include:

- CASA of River Valley (CASA) - Attorney Guardian Ad Litem

- City of Joliet's (COJ) - Senior Snow Project

- Catholic Charities - Diocese of Joliet (CC-DOJ) - Safety Project

- Latino Economic Development Association (LEDA) - Business Assistance Program

- Spanish Community Center (SCC) - ADA Accessibility

- Stepping Stones (SS) - Roof & AC Repair

- United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) - Safety & Security Cameras

- Will County Center for Community Concerns (WCCCC) - Driveway Improvement

- Will County Center for Community Concerns (WCCCC) - Housing Counseling

There will also be a segment for new or old business not requiring final action or recommendation. A public comment section is available for non-agenda items where citizens are again allowed four minutes to speak.
