The City of Joliet Diversity & Community Relations Committee is scheduled to convene on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at 4:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, Second Floor, at Joliet City Hall in Illinois. The purpose of the meeting is to address various matters relevant to the committee's agenda.

One of the items on the agenda is the approval of the minutes from the previous meeting held on November 7, 2023. This is a routine procedure to ensure accurate documentation of the committee's activities.

The committee also provides an opportunity for citizens to be heard on agenda items. It is important to note that individuals speaking on agenda items are allowed a maximum of 4 minutes and the committee does not engage in question and answer sessions during this time. According to the official announcement, "staff and the Diversity & Community Relations Committee do not generally respond to public comments."

During the meeting, two organizations, Give Something Back, NFP and the Spanish Community Center, will be making presentations. Give Something Back, NFP will have the opportunity to share their accomplishments, while the Spanish Community Center will discuss their facility improvement plans under the CDBG Program Year 2023. Additionally, the Latino Economic Development Association (LEDA) will present their progress on the microenterprise program under the CDBG Program Year 2023.

The meeting will also include discussions on old and new business. One of the topics to be addressed is the notice of display of CAPER. This serves as an update to the committee and the public regarding the Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report.

Furthermore, there will be a designated time for public comments on non-agenda items. Similar to the previous section, individuals participating in this segment will be allowed a maximum of 4 minutes to express their thoughts. However, it is important to remember that the committee does not typically respond to public comments during this time.

Lastly, the meeting will conclude with the adjournment of the committee.
