In a compelling tale of the challenges faced by everyday Americans, Kyle Rosales, a candidate for the Illinois House 98th District, has shed light on the plight of senior citizens who are struggling amidst rising inflation and what he sees as government neglect.

"On Saturday a constituent of my district drafted a message to me on my campaign website," Rosales said.

In the Illinois Republican, Rosales shared the story of a senior citizen, Pat, who reached out to him, expressing her frustration with a system she believes is failing her.

“This wonderful woman is a senior citizen that is disabled and lives on a fixed income. Because of the Democratic liberal plan that was brought upon this nation, everyday Americans are struggling to keep up with inflation that is boosting the cost of goods including the rise of prices of food and fuel. That is why we see retirees in their 80s working full-time jobs like delivering food for Door Dash or driving for Uber just to make ends meet,” Rosales wrote.

Pat is currently caring for her granddaughter Ava, who is 4 years old, because her own daughter, Ava's mother, is incarcerated. Pat sought help from the County and the State of Illinois, but their response was to offer her only $23.00 a month for food. Pat questioned why, after years of paying taxes, this is all they can afford to give her and her granddaughter.

“Meanwhile she discovered that the State of Illinois and the United States government are funding illegal aliens with $100.00 dollar debit cards for per diem daily for the grand total of $3,000 a month to get them ‘started’ in this country,” Rosales revealed.

“How can this be acceptable that we as a nation and state can provide this care with our tax dollars to foreign nationals over Americans that never fueled this economy with such gifts? The government is currently spending 200 million a month in Illinois for these immigrants, but our own citizens have been forgotten.”

The controversy over illegal immigrants in Will County has also sparked outrage among locals who question the allocation of resources while the essential needs of taxpayers and Americans remain unmet. Joliet Township Supervisor Angel Contreras pursued a grant application seeking funding for the housing and support of illegal immigrants, which has drawn criticism from residents.

In Chicago, a recent poll conducted by Matthew Podgorski at M3 Strategies revealed a deep divide among voters regarding the city's response to the new migrant situation. Approximately 70% of voters believe that Chicago's focus on housing new migrants negatively affects current residents in need, including a substantial portion of Democrats, women, Black, Hispanic, and South and West side voters.

The 98th House District, where Rosales is running, encompasses all or parts of Bolingbrook, Crest Hill, Crystal Lawns, Romeoville, and Joliet. It is currently represented by State Rep. Natalie Manley (D-Joliet).
