Tension on the Tinley Park village board continued during a recent board meeting.

According to the Southland Journal, back in May of 2022, village trustee Diane Galante was dismissed from a board meeting. She was removed from the meeting by a vote after Mayor Glotz described a police report that she filed accusing him of intimidating her after a board meeting. The Mayor denied all of her allegations as did all the other board members. A resident at the meeting also complained about her conduct towards him.

During a Nov. 1 board meeting, Trustee Diane Galante spoke about recent FOIA requests she had made, saying that she hadn’t received significant results back. She questioned why the board has stopped her from speaking to residents at board meetings and why she wasn’t able to attend executive sessions anymore. She also complained of harassment from the other board members.

City clerk Nancy O’Connor tried to respond to Galante’s complaints but was interrupted by the trustee. Mayor Glotz had to remind trustee Galante that the clerk did not have a timer on her comments and to not interrupt anymore. Clerk O’Connor promised that no one on the board had been harassing her or speaking about her family. She spoke against Galante’s accusations saying that the trustee was not working for the benefit of the board or the community.

"You continue to support people who literally have no morals and insult the ones who have worked so hard to gain control of this property so we can put a development out there that would literally change the face of Tinley Park. And here you sit and attack us for doing that and support the very, very man who has fought against us for years in gaining control of that property. I think you've really shown your true colors tonight," Tinley Park City Clerk Nancy O'Connor said at the meeting.
