When Lynn Fell joined the Tinley Park Police Department in January, it was a part-time venture, but she has performed well enough to move into a full-time slot as police clerk matron.

She is one of three new employees the village board announced at its Nov. 1 meeting.

“I just want to thank everybody,” Police Chief Matthew Walsh said during the meeting, a stream of which is on YouTube. “Since she's been here, she quickly grasped all aspects of the job and it's done a great job for us, so we're happy to bring her onboard full time.”

Fell started in her upgraded position Nov. 7. In her months with the department, she has demonstrated confidence and skills, so the board bumped her up.

The board also voted to approve the appointment of Zack Tatar to the position of maintenance technician in the city’s streets division.

Tatar began working in Public Works in the spring of 2021 and quickly showed proficiency in working with heavy machinery and street-related operational duties. He has a class B CDL. His job started Nov. 14.

Julio Ayala was also appointed as a maintenance technician, but for the city’s water department. Julio has over 20 years of experience in construction and plumbing experience, which includes five years in municipalities. He is familiar with all aspects of water mains. He also holds a class B CDL. The board approved him to begin in this position on Nov. 7.
