Last week, State's Attorney James Glasgow enjoyed a visit from former Joliet resident, Joseph Quigley, the first person he met on his first day as a student at St. Patrick Grade School in Joliet.
The school secretary, Mary Scheidt, was State's Attorney Glasgow's aunt and she introduced the two boys who became life-long friends. Both lived in Joliet's "St. Pat's" neighborhood -- Glasgow at Marion & Wheeler St. and Quigley on Willow Ave. After their 1968 graduation from Joliet Catholic High School, Quigley attended Loyola University and the University of Illinois College of Law, and retired after a career as a Judge Advocate for the Marine Corps. Glasgow received his undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois and a J.D. at Lewis University College of Law (now Northern Illinois University College of Law).
Quigley is a proud uncle to many, including 10-year WNBA All-Star player Allie Quigley who is in her 10th season with the Chicago Sky and is a record-breaking, 4-time winner of the WNBA 3-point contest.
