The City Manager welcomed the City's new Economic Development Director Cesar
NEW BUSINESS (Not for Final Action or Recommendation):
Councilman Guerrero congratulated Cesar Saurez. He also discussed Ring camera and tying into the City's system.
Councilman Hug discussed ticketing with portable camera units.
Councilwoman Quillman briefly discussed enforcement of fireworks violations. Councilwoman Reardon briefly discussed Flock camera and a program for Ring cameras. A brief discuss was held concerning the property on Cora Street housing sex offenders.
PUBLIC COMMENTS:
Betsy Satcher, Eastside Neighborhood Counsel, briefly discussed their neighborhood clean up and thanked Destiny McNair for volunteering to coordinate the clean-up efforts.
Miss McNair briefly discussed the clean-up details.
Rita Renwick thanked the Mayor and Council for their passage of Council Memo #314-22: Ordinance Amending Chapter 26, Division 2, Article VI, Tree, Shrub, and Plant Regulations and Repealing Chapter 8, Division 3, Diseased Trees.
Doug Kasper briefly discussed the Non-Violence City Project.
MAYOR AND COUNCIL COMMENTS:
Councilwoman Gavin thanked Miss McNair for her involvement in her community.
Councilman Morris thanked Pastor and Mrs. Edmond for supporting their granddaughter Miss McNair and also thanked Mr. Edmond for his service on the District 204 School Board.
Councilman Mudron congratulated the Boy's Baseball Team and all the Joliet Catholic High School state championship teams and individuals from the 2022 school season.
Councilwoman Quillman highlighted the Will County Center for Economic Development party for the City's new Economic Director Cesar Saurez, Star Wars Days, Liberty Meadows Landing presentation of $3 million for the purchase of the old Joliet Country Club property. She requested Councilman Morris put the single family rental item back on the next Land Use Meeting Agenda.
Councilwoman Reardon wished everyone a Happy Father's Day.
Mayor O'Dekirk also congratulated the JCA Boy's Baseball Team. He highlighted the Disability Resource Center open house and ribbon cutting, new Director of St. Joseph Hospital Chamber luncheon, Will County Law Enforcement Memorial, retirement party for Dr. Judy Mitchell at Joliet Junior College, motivational speech for City Police Officers and Employees, Concerts on the Hill, ribbon cutting for Studio Flex, check presentation to Stepping Stones by Congressman Foster, Star Wars Days, and check presentation to Corner Stone.
