A. CALL TO ORDER

Meeting was called to order at 9:33 AM by President VanDuyne.

U. COMMENTS BY PUBLIC

Executive Director Schultz read a public comment from Mayor George Yukich, of Homer Glen regarding the Forest Preserve's Deer Management Culling Program at Messenger Woods in Homer Glen.

V. COMMENTS BY EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Executive Director Schultz invited the Board members to the IPRA/IAPD Soaring to New Heights Conference being held January 27, 2022 - January 30, 2022 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Chicago, Illinois.

Executive Director Schultz along with President VanDuyne, and Deputy Director Chapman attended the Chicago Wilderness Excellence in Ecological Restorations Force of Nature Award Ceremony. Schultz was pleased to announce the Forest Preserve District of Will County was recognized by the Chicago Wilderness for work at Braidwood Dunes and Savannah Nature Preserve which is a 315 acre Illinois State Nature Preserve in Braidwood. Its one of the largest and most diverse examples of this type of habitat in Illinois and it sits in a complex of four State Nature Preserves. The program itself recognizes the restoration and ongoing management, judging the successes and the struggles. Braidwood was awarded accreditation at the Gold level.

2. The Nature Foundation of Will County

The Nature Foundation of Will County Chair Ragan Pattison and Executive Director Cindy Harn presented the with Forest Preserve District of Will County with a check donation of $23,750. Chair Pattison explained with combined efforts of Joyce Bae from J-Power USA who matched a donation of $10,000 they were able to help fund the All-Abilities Trail at Four Rivers Educational Environmental Center for a total of $20,000 donation. A $3,750 donation will be utilized for the "Don't be a Zombie" be prepared exhibition at Plum Creek Nature Center.

Chair Pattison also thanked Commissioner Gould, Commissioner Ventura, and Commissioner Mueller for their contribution to this project.
