City of Joliet Public Safety Committee met March 3.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

1. Roll Call

ALSO PRESENT: Interim City Manager Steve Jones, Chief Alan Roechner, Deputy Chief Marc Reid, Deputy Chief Michael Batis, Interim Fire Chief Greg Blaskey and CIO David Braner.

2. Approval of Minutes - February 4th, 2020

Motion to approve the minutes from February 4th, 2020 was made by Councilman Larry E. Hug.

Motion seconded by Councilman Don "Duck" Dickinson. Motion carried by the following vote: AYES: Chairperson Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman, Councilman Don "Duck"

Dickinson, Councilman Larry E. Hug. NAYS: None.

3. Citizens to be Heard on Agenda Items:

None.

4. Review and Request Approval for the Axon In-Car Camera Solution.

A discussion was held regarding in-car video system and Axon Fleet 2 proposal.

Motion to recommend Approval for the Axon In-Car Camera Solution to full Council was made by Councilman Larry E. Hug.

Motion seconded by Councilman Don "Duck" Dickinson. Motion carried by the following vote: AYES: Chairperson Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman, Councilman Don "Duck"

Dickinson, Councilman Larry E. Hug. NAYS: None.

5. Discussion Regarding the use of LPR Cameras.

A discussion was held regarding LPR Cameras.

6. Public Comments:

None.

7. NEW or OLD BUSINESS, not for final action or recommendation

Interim Deputy Chief Greg Blaskey gave a brief presentation on Coronavirus.

Deputy Chief Mike Batis mentioned he attended a 2020 Budget Amendment meeting and he gave an update.

8. Adjournment

Motion to adjourn was made by Councilman Larry E. Hug.

Motion seconded by Councilman Don "Duck" Dickinson. 

Motion carried by the following vote: 

AYES: Chairperson Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman, Councilman Don "Duck" Dickinson, Councilman Larry E. Hug. 

NAYS: None.

Meeting adjourned at 6:11 p.m.
