Analysis: Channahon pays $3.28 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Channahon Fire Protection District Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 76 percent of the $544,366 the Channahon Fire Protection District Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $3.28 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Will County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Channahon contributed $413,954 to the fund, which saw a $19,954 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $126,175, or 23.2 percent, in 2018. Another $4,237 came from other unspecified sources.
