Analysis: Joliet pays $4.98 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Joliet Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 83.1 percent of the $18,637,084 the Joliet Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $4.98 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Will County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Joliet contributed $15,495,791 to the fund, which saw a $924,513 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $3,108,245, or 16.7 percent, in 2018. Another $33,048 came from other unspecified sources.
