Wilmington Community Unit School District No. 209 Board of Education met Dec. 18.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The Board of Education of Wilmington Community Unit School District No. 209-U met in special session on Wednesday December 18, 2019 at 6:00 P.M. in the Wilmington High School Board Room. President Cragg called the meeting to order with the following members answering roll call: Anderson, Dziuban, Kunz, Moran, Southall, and Cragg. Stickel – absent.

At 6:01 p.m., a motion was made by Anderson and seconded by Southall to discuss in closed session and to take action in open session the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employees, The setting of a price for sale or lease of property owned by the public body, and Litigation that has been filed and is pending. Anderson-aye, Dziuban-aye, Kunz-aye, Moran-aye, Southall-aye, Stickel-absent, Cragg-aye. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Southall and seconded by Moran to temporarily leave closed session. Anderson-aye, Dziuban-aye, Kunz-aye, Moran-aye, Southall-aye, Stickel-absent, Cragg-aye. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Southall and seconded by Dziuban to approve the agenda for the Wednesday, December 18, 2019 special meeting of the Wilmington Community Unit School District No. 209-U Board of Education as presented. Anderson-aye, Dziuban-aye, Kunz-aye, Moran-aye, Southall-aye, Stickel-absent, Cragg-aye. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Southall and seconded by Moran to accept the offer made by Mr. and Mrs. Julious and Nicole Shell for the 2018-2019 Building Trades Class House, located at 950 Wildcat Court, in the amount of $271,000.00 while foregoing the $3,000 closing credit and the $3,000 carpet allowance offered by the District. Anderson-aye, Dziuban-aye, Kunz-aye, Moran-aye, Southall-aye, Stickel-absent, Cragg-aye. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Anderson and seconded by Dziuban to approve Memo of Understanding with the Support Staff Union. Anderson-aye, Dziuban-aye, Kunz-aye, Moran-aye, Southall-aye, Stickel-absent, Cragg-aye. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Moran and seconded by Dziuban at 6:15 p.m. to resume closed session. Anderson-aye, Dziuban-aye, Kunz-aye, Moran-aye, Southall-aye, Stickel-absent, Cragg-aye. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Southall and seconded by Anderson at 6:57 p.m. to leave closed session. Anderson-aye, Dziuban-aye, Kunz-aye, Moran-aye, Southall-aye, Stickel-absent, Cragg-aye. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Moran and seconded by Anderson to adjourn until the Regular meeting on January 13, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. Closed Session will begin at 6:00 p.m. All aye. Motion carried

Adjourn at 7:00 pm.
