City of Crest Hill issued the following announcement on Dec. 11.
The Comed Energy Efficiency Program has recently informed Crest Hill of its carbon footprint and projected energy savings for the year 2018. Due to the city's proactive approach to being a good environmental neighbor, Crest Hill began to replace streetlight bulbs with LED bulbs and because of this is annually projected to:
reduce 387,227 kilowatt hours
save $27,564
plant 259 acres of trees
remove 47 cars from streets
and power 45 homes
