City of Wilmington issued the following announcement on Oct. 1.
We have had several calls recently about solicitors in Wilmington. To date, no solicitor permits have been issued. Any solicitor that comes to your house should have available a City of Wilmington Solicitors Badge, each individual is issued one of these that is approved and must have it with them. If they don't, please call the Wilmington Police Department at 815-476-2811 to report the individual(s).
Also, if you have a solicitor that gets to "pushy" with their sales pitch and won't take no for an answer you should contact the number listed above. If you display a “No Solicitors” sign on your home they also should not make contact.
