The data shows that eight men and three women were released in the Wilmington zip code. The median age of the parolees was 40. The youngest parolee was a 29-year-old man convicted of a crime against a person in 2017, and the oldest was a 47-year-old man convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2017.
The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Eric Lemons. He was convicted of homicide in 2011, when he was 30 years old. He is now 38.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
