The data shows that 26 men and two women were released in Lockport. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 35. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving one or more weapons in 2018, and the oldest was a 58-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving alcohol in 2017.
The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Billy Carney. He was convicted of a sex crime in 2009 when he was 38 years old. He is now 48.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
