Former state university employee Brunson Kidd paid in $21K to pension fund, could collect $945K in retirement

Former state university employee Lamonda Brunson Kidd, who retired in May 2016, saved $20,529 toward a pension over 9 years working for state universities, State Universities Retirement System of Illinois records show.

Over 30 years of retirement, Brunson Kidd would collect as much as $944,819, according to a projection by Local Government Information Services (LGIS), which publishes Will County Gazette.

The projection assumes Brunson Kidd received $19,859 in the first year of retirement, then 3 percent annual increases thereafter, compounded.

After 2 years of retirement, Brunson Kidd will have already received $40,314 in retirement benefits, or more than the sum total of the retiree's contributions to the state pension fund.
